Rise 'n Shine!
We were wondering why medical workers kept asking us about Caleb's sleeping habits. NOW WE KNOW WHY. He hasn't been able to fall asleep 'til after 10pm these days & is waking up wide-eyed & bushy-tailed at 2am. The latest chemo regimen apparently makes him feel rested all of the time. Sweet, sweet voice at 2 am: "Momma, I'm bored. Can you please get up with me?" How do you turn that down? You don't! As I sit here & yawn and stretch and feel beyond exhausted, I get a rush of energy when I think: Caleb is alive. Caleb is going to be okay. Caleb is in a good mood. LIFE IS GOOD.

Ahhh...simply touching. Sending you prayers for peace, rest, and strength. Melissa--we watch the news each morning in anticipation of your sweet smile...and there it is without fail. God truly has given your family supernatural strength and a supernatural type of joy through a challenging time. Sending big hugs your way. Heather and the Mize Crew
ReplyDeleteDear Melissa...My admiration for you goes so far beyond what words could express. You truly epitomize grace under fire...We all want so much to take this heart wrenching, excruciating battle away from you...and to let sweet, courageous Caleb be a carefree little boy, again. We know, in our hearts and souls, God will take good care of you. Please know that we are praying for you, with all our might, and believing, with all our hearts. Lion hearts. For your Caleb. God's blessings! Love, Carolyn & Dan
ReplyDeleteThis post made me smile. Yes, Caleb is alive! He is a beautiful sweet boy who is going to grow up and do amazing things. He's already proved he's one tough cookie! You know what? You are one tough cookie too! Love you all so much and continue to pray.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I am so glad to hear Caleb has turned the corner and the "c" word is GONE! Yay!! You guys have been incredibly courageous and strong through all of this so far. I will continue praying for you guys. I hope to run into you soon at the hospital!
ReplyDeleteCaleb asked you to get up at 2am and of course you did regardless of how tired you felt, that is time well spent. Josh Turner sings a song titled "Time is Love", the time you spent with Caleb was nothing more than showing him how much you love him. Good job Melissa.
ReplyDeleteI also check your webpage daily. I admire your love and strenght sooo much! I'm praying to God for you and your family, especially for Caleb.
ReplyDeleteMissy Sue, I has always blown my mind how selfless and loving you are to everyone around you...no more so than now. I am humbled to call you my dear, sweet friend. What a beautiful example of love, grace and motherhood you are!
